Sick Day

Just in time for a "Sick Day" from work this Friday, Winter Park is expected to get some decent snow Thursday into Friday.  The cross country skiing at Snow Mountain Ranch and Devil's Thumb is great and should become much better Thursday.  It's a great time to get up to the Fraser Valley and have some winter fun.  Be sure to check out the Fraser/Winter Park Chamber website to get the low down on all of the great activities happening in Grand County.  SYS!

Get to the "TOP"-WP opens the Panoramic Express Today!

Winter Park, Colorado:  Winter Park Ski Resort opened the Panoramic Express lift today, opening many more acres of  terrain.  It's just in time for the new snow fall expected tonight.  Typically the the top of Mary Jane gets much more snow like it's neighbor Berthoud Pass so the skiing should be great.  The air temperature in  Winter Park and Fraser has been dropping steadily in the past hour and the clear skies have succumbed to cloud cover.  We all know what that means, SNOW!  It's about time that we got back into the storm pattern with snow likely several days in the next week.  So get your skis waxed and get on up here!  Be sure to check out the great accommodations at the Rocky Mountain Chalet for your next sick day(powder day)!!

Valentines Day

Valentines Day is quickly approaching, so "Guys", get started by reserving a suite in the Winter Park/Fraser area.  Don't forget the goodies: chocolates, red roses, champagne, strawberries and a trip to Victoria Secret, just to name a few.  There are lots of outdoor activities in the Fraser Valley to kick off Valentines Day only to be followed by a romantic dinner and then a suite at the Rocky Mountain Chalet.  A few dinner choices are: Caroline's Cuisine, Deno's Mountain Bistro,  The Tabernash Tavern, Fontenot's, Alberto's and Brickhouse 40.

I probably should be writing this for all the women out there but I believe there are guys like me that believe in chivalry.

Snow Storm

Well, it looks like the jet stream has finally dropped down to provide Colorado a stream of winter storms.  Despite warmer than usual temperatures, Winter Park Ski Resort, Sol Vista Basin and the Upper Fraser Valley has seen 14 inches of snowfall this week.  We are expecting another 11 to 18 inches by Monday night which will make for some great Alpine skiing, snowmobiling, snow shoeing and Nordic skiing.  Wax is key right now with the fluctuating warm to cold temperatures so check the daily temperatures before selecting your wax.  Leaving the snow and going to the ice, Fraser has a new full size ice Rink "Icebox" that offers all types of family activities.  Grand County also offers some of the best ice fishing in the State of Colorado.

Tonight Smokin' Moes has a National Blues act that will blow your sox off, Trampeled Under Foot.  This brother/sister trio is amazingly talented and full of energy.

So get off your duff and get up to Winter Park/Fraser and have yourself a great time.  Be sure to mention this Blog in the next 5 days and receive a 15% discount off a direct booking of a Suite at the Rocky Mountain Chalet.
