Please see some of our recent reviews on trip advisor and our accolades

The Rocky Mountain Chalet is a great place to stay. After a day of skiing at Winter Park (which is only a 10 minute stress free car ride down the road) it was great to be able to cook a meal in the huge kitchen upstairs and then relax to a football game on a nice HD TV. Thanks Chivi and Paisley for your helpful service.

The Rocky Mountain Chalet is not like any hotel or Inn that I have stayed at in Winter Park. First class bedding, robes, bath towels and beds. We were welcomed by friendly and helpful staff (Chivi & David) that had one goal in mind, make our stay enjoyable and relaxing. We were treated to a continental breakfast that featured local gourmet coffee, fruit, bagels and much more. We even dinned in one night and made a fabulous meal in the large well-appointed kitchen upstairs. You would have to rent a high dollar condo to get a kitchen like that. The location was ideal for all the local activities we did. The free local shuttle bus had us to the base of Winter Park Resort in 11 minutes after a few stops. My husband really enjoyed watching the football game on the new HD Flat panel TV in our Suite while resting on luxurious pillows after a day of skiing. If you like luxury on a budget, than you have got to stay at the Rocky Mountain Chalet. We love Winter Park/Fraser for it's quiet yet fun atmosphere. Thanks Chivi and David for a great stay.

What traveling does for you

Almost everybody loves to travel. It is so nice to get off work, go somewhere interesting and worry only about how you are going to have fun. But most of the time what you get from a trip is a lot more than just fun. When you go somewhere different and get out of your routine you get to experience new ways of living, which means you will be exposed to different points of view and different cultures. Traveling makes you adjust to a different scenario and do things you are not used to, making you question if the way you have been living is the best way to do it. Traveling makes you discover new things, new hobbies and passions. It changes you. The person that left home to go on a trip is not the same person that comes back.

The beauty of helping others

Why do most of us tend to help other people for no reason? Some would say that one day we might need help from the person we are helping out now. But what if we are helping a stranger that we will never see again? In that case, we are never getting anything back. Or are we? Research says that people that do volunteer work are happier than people that don't. The reason for that is when you help someone you are, at the same time, boosting you self steam. It makes you feel worthy of good deeds yourself and realize that you make a difference on other people's lives, making the world a better place. It also brings you good feelings and gives your life a meaning. You may not realize this, but you may feel happier playing with kids that have cancer at a hospital than you would sipping cocktails at happy hour. Because when you help others you are really helping yourself.

The Rocky Mountain Chalet: What is a Christmas tree for?

When my boyfriend asked me: "Do we really need to get a Christmas tree?" I said: "Yes, we do need it."
But then, thinking about it, why do I need one? What is a Christmas tree for?
Tradition says that bringing the tree from the forest is like calling back the spirits of your ancestors into your house. Maybe that is why Christmas trees bring the family together and make you feel at home.
Staring at my tree now, it does make me feel at home, even though my home is five thousand miles away. Besides that, Christmas is not that much fun without a Christmas tree.
I decorated mine with chocolate Santa's. I am not sure if the Santa's will make it through the 25th of December but the warm feeling I get every time I stare at my tree, I will always remember that.

The Rocky Mountain Chalet: How to have a great vacation in winter park

The Rocky Mountain Chalet: How to have a great vacation in winter park

One question, so many answers.
If you asked my grandpa he would say: Spend some time fishing in one of the many lakes in the area, go soak in the natural pools at Hot Sulphur Springs and don't forget to stop by the golf course!
My outdoor loving, adventurous cousin would say: Fill your days up with hiking, mountain biking trails and rafting trips. At night camp out on a site by the creek and enjoy a great view.
My mom would say: Drive through town, take great pictures, enjoy delicious meals at the local restaurants and don't forget to pick out some souvenirs.
This crazy guy i know would say: Get a snowmobile, go up Corona Pass and drop it with a snowboard.
What would I say? I would say explore the mountain with your skis during the day, relax your muscles in a hot tub when you are done, then go up to the local bars and have some drinks with great people!
The answers are endless. It doesn't matter how old you are or what type of person you are. Winter Park's got something for everybody. Or... wait!... Winter Park's got A LOT of things for everybody!

Bhruna's Birthday!!!!

Everyone it's Bhruna's birthday!  She is the newest employee at the Rocky Mountain Chalet.

The Rocky Mountain Chalet: Do you make these mistakes?

The Rocky Mountain Chalet: Do you make these mistakes when picking a ski resort and accommodations?
Paying to much for lift tickets?
Sitting in hours of traffic to keep up with the Joneses?
Having to rent a car to enjoy all the winter activities you would like to do on a vacation?
Paying to much for cookie cutter accommodations?

Our Chalet offers a convenient location that is served by the local shuttle bus with a pick up just 100 yards from the front door. We can purchase discounted lift ticket for one person or 40 and they will be waiting for you when you check in. The quiet town of Winter Park/Fraser is only an hour and a half from downtown Denver so you wont be stuck driving in the slow traffic through the Eisenhower Tunnel or Vail Pass. Winter Park/Fraser offers so many winter activities to do in just a few square miles, that it is easy to do more than just one activity in a day. We fit all of our beds with pure Egyptian Cotton sheets, lots of pillows and designer comforters. We could have fitted the Suites with standard hotel bedding and towels, but we want you to enjoy the five star soft texture of our sheets and bath towels after a long day. To top it all off, when you are ready to relax, you can slip into a warm and luxurious robe and complimentary slippers.

The Rocky Mountain Chalet: You don’t have to be ………….. to be ………….

The Rocky Mountain Chalet: You don’t have to be wealthy to be treated to five star luxury. The Rocky Mountain Chalet offers amazing accommodations for an affordable price. The bedding is what you expect to find in a private home or five star hotel. You can enjoy cooking in a gourmet kitchen that most of us wish we had or simply walk or shuttle to the many convenient restaurant's. What a steal!
